We are proud to announce our NAVY STTR award in collaboration with the MIT Marine Autonomy Lab. Together, we are developing Hydro-X-Mesh — a first-of-its-kind autonomous multi-domain, multi-modal, multi-spectrum mesh networking system enabling high-speed, cross-domain data transfer across unmanned underwater, surface, and aerial platforms and vehicles.

Hydro-X-Mesh combines Hydronet’s programmable underwater communication platform with MIT’s autonomous robotic fleet—built on the SeaBeaver II UUV and running the MOOS-IvP autonomy stack—to push the boundaries of undersea connectivity and unmanned platform teaming.

By combining multi-layered, hybrid communication modalities with adaptive control and teaming capabilities, this system aims to enhance situational awareness, coordination, and command across domains — a critical enabler for future naval operations.

This is a major step forward in building the Internet Underwater and pioneering next-generation maritime autonomy.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
